Photo Lyn Harwood, Gipsy Point
Flowering time: December near the coast extending to February in higher alpine sites
Habitat: Widespread across East Gippsland although fairly uncommon among grasses and sedge in wet swampy locations that are fairly open; from near coastal to sub-alpine areas.
Possible sites: Lindenow South, Blond Bay; Colquhoun Forest, Wairewa, Nunniong Plateau, Benambra, high plains below Mt Cobberas, Upper Delegate River
Notes: With its spirally arranged flower spike, it is a very distinctive species, making it easily identified even in fruit.
